We are an association for anyone with an interest in gay life and issues in Ukraine. Our members include Ukrainian and foreign citizens living in Ukraine, as well as abroad.
UGLA was officially registered in 2002 by Ukrainian LGBT groups operating in Kiev, the Crimea and Odessa since 1997. Today, we are present in all regions of Ukraine with our head office in Odessa. UGLA is a member of ILGA and has friendly links with many other LGBT organizations in Ukraine, Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and other countries.
The UGLA's activities are focused on both activism and recreation.
As an LGBT activist organization, we are struggling for stricter enforcement and legal assurances pertaining to the human, civil and political rights and freedoms for persons of all sexual persuasions – LGBTs (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and transsexuals) and “straights” in Ukraine and all over the world.
As a recreational organization, we work towards developing gay culture, sport, domestic and international tourism and international links.
We’re always interested in getting feedback from all who are concerned with our activities.
